Rosedown Plantation

Daniel and Marth Barrow Turnbull began Rosedown Plantation in the 1830′s. The main house is of the Federal Greek revival style with Grecian wings. It stands behind beautiful towering oak trees which form a canopy over the gravel road which lead countless carriages up to the front door. The grounds are most noted for the vast gardens which include plants like cryptomeria, crape myrtles, and azaleas. The best time to visit the State owned park is when the flowers bloom in the spring time.

Rosedown Plantation Home is located at 12501 Louisiana Highway 10 in Saint Francisville a small town about thirty minutes north of Baton Rouge in West Feliciana Parish. In general the estate is open for visiting from 9 am to 5 pm daily and closed on holidays. Please call 1.888.376.1867 to plan your visit.
